Friday Fun ABBOTT & COSTELLO "Justin Tyme the World's Best Grocery Clerk in 'Gorilla My Dreams' "

In Japan, manga about people in everyday jobs are quite common...and popular!
Here in America, they're rarely successful, no matter how well-done!
Illustrated (and possibly written) by Charles W Winter (as "C W Winter"), this feature from St John's Abbott & Costello Comics #8 (1949) was Justin Tyme's second, and last, original appearance>
(The story was reprinted later in A&C's run.).
The idea of having to do something silly if you get an incorrect answer on a game show started in radio, and carried over to TV, where it continues to the present day!

Trump Reading Room DEATH RATTLE "Foreshadow"

Like Don da Con's "deplorables", the primitives below fail to actually listen...
...in this never-reprinted tale from Kitchen Sink's Death Rattle V1N2 (1973)!
Writer-artist John Pound is still going strong almost half-a-century later!
Besides underground comics, he also worked on Marvel's Howard the Duck, and was the primary artist on the original run of Garbage Pail Kids from Topps Cards!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder WOLFF "Night of the WereWolf"

...well, that turn of events doesn't sound promising, does it?
I don't remember this sort of thing ever happening to Conan!
This tale from Dracula #4 (1971) was written by Sadko superbly-illustrated and co-written by Esteban Maroto.

Reading Room WEIRD TALES OF THE FUTURE "Engine That Came Though Time!"

Is it ethical to trick someone...
...if a good result occurs because of that trickery?
Read this tale, then decide!
Was Ranu justified in doing what he did in this tale from Key Publications' Weird Tales of the Future #4 (1952), by illustrator Eugene Hughes and an unknown writer?
You tell me...

Monday Moon Madness ASTONISHING "Menace from the Moon!"

We're planning to send humans back to the moon in the next few years.
Is that really such a good idea???
OK, this tale from Atlas' Astonishing #5 (1951), written by Hank Chapman and illustrated by Cal Massey is a tad silly.
They claim the ship was lost five years earlier, yet speculate the crew was still alive and coming home?
C'mon, even a kid in the 1950s would find that concept...well...DUMB!!!
(And that's being polite!)
