Space: the Final Frontier...for Christmas Gifts!

Since the 1890s, and the heyday of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, science fiction-themed presents had a place under the Christmas tree and in Xmas stockings for the young (and young at heart)!
Continuing that entertaining tradition, Atomic Kommie Comics™ is proud to offer our line of retro-design sci-fi/fantasy collectibles, The Future WAS Fantastic!™, for both kids AND adults!
We're talking 12-month calendars, messenger bags, mugs, magnets, t-shirts, sweatshirts and other goodies featuring some of the niftiest illustrations from the comic books, pulp magazines, and movie posters of the 1930s-1960s, all digitally-restored and remastered!
Spaceships with wings and big fins!
Ray Guns that zap an army in a flash!
Slimy Aliens!
Killer Robots!
Heroes in bubble-helmeted tight spacesuits!
Heroines in even tighter space suits!
Never did the future look so...stylish!
If you're looking for something in the vein of Star Wars or Star Trek (You did know that George Lucas wanted to remake Flash Gordon, but King Features didn't want to trust a young director whose biggest credit at that point was American Graffiti, didn't you?), here's some of the stuff that provided the visual inspiration for today's hi-tech flights of fantasy!
Enjoy, and may your rocket tubes never overheat...

Nerdist SpaceMan Stuff Sale!

With the creation of the Nerdist YouTube Channel...
...we're celebrating with a sale on collectibles featuring the most interesting visual on the set of their new BBC-TV series The Nerdist.
Like it's counterpart on the wall of Sheldon and Leonard's apartment in The Big Bang Theory (Click HERE for that art), it's based on a classic cover from the Golden Age.
This particular image is from Ace Comics' Space Action #2, published in 1952, 60 years ago!
And here's the really weird thing...it has nothing to do with any of the stories in the comic!
Yes, it's the old "this scene on the cover does not occur on the inside" trick!
As to who the artist is, there's speculation it's either Lou Cameron or Matt Fox, both of whom had considerable sci-fi experience.

Choose from iPod,  iPad, and iPhone cases, t-shirts, mugs, tote bags, and other goodies by clicking HERE!

Design of the Week--The Return of Buck Rogers--Redux!

Each week, we post a limited-edition design, to be sold for exactly 7 days, then replaced with another!
This week, like last week...the coming of the Famous Funnies' Buck Rogers!
Illustrated by the late, great, Frank Frazetta, the series of covers running from Famous Funnies #209-216 helped redefine the "look" of the character who, up to this point, seemed far more "cartoony" than rival Flash Gordon!
This particular art is from #211, and is wonderfully dramatic as Buck and Wilma stand-off against primitive, but lethal aliens! Who will make the first move?
We're offering him on items for state of the art tech like iPad and iPhone hardcases, as well as mugs, t-shirts, and other tchochkies!
We will bring Buck back, on more of the Famous Funnies covers, so don't "pass the Buck"!
Vote with your bucks for more Buck!

Design of the Week--SpaceHero

Each week, we post a limited-edition design, to be sold for exactly 7 days, then replaced with another!
This week, a spaceman in the Flash Gordon / Buck Rogers mold, with rayguns and spaceships (not to mention scantily-clad women) aplenty.
A vintage image suitable for retro / ironic adults or starry-eyed kids, and available on clothing for both as well as mugs, messenger bags and other kool kollectibles!
Enjoy!
(And don't forget tomorrow is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!)
