Monday Madness THE BIG LIE

Before the phrase became indelibly-associated with Don da Con's paranoid delusiona about the 2020 elections......
...it defined the paranoid delusions of the pre-QAnon nuts who inhabited the internet in the early 2000s about the events of 9/11/2001!

9-11: WORLD'S FINEST COMIC BOOK WRITERS AND ARTISTS TELL STORIES TO REMEMBER "Real Thing"

On the 21st Anniversary of the 9/11 attack...

...we're presenting a reaction to it by a true comics legend...writer/artist Will Eisner!

This superb short appeared in the "benefit book",  DC's 9-11: The World's Finest Comic Book Writers Tell Stories to Remember #2 (2002), which was the second of two books that helped raise money for victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
All the creative contributors, as well as suppliers/vendors, printers and distributors donated their work on this project.

What You Are About to Read Actually Happened 20 Years Ago Today...

All text is from the official 9/11 Report ...

...and all dialogue is taken verbatim from verified audio recordings!
Besides detailing the actual events, the adaptation takes what would be incredibly-tedious background text material and livens it up, as these thumbnails on the Table of Contents show...
(You didn't think I was going to present the entire book here, did you?)
Writer/editor Sid Jacobson and writer/artist Ernie Colon are best known for their work together on various Harvey Comics humor strips.
Note that Ernie had demonstrated his serious comics work for DC, Marvel, and Warren, among others on projects like Arak, Damage Control, AmethystBattleStar Galactica and Medusa Chain!
As a result, Farrar, Straus and Giroux's 9/11 Report (2006) stands as a high-water mark for a graphic novel based on history!

9/11 Report: the Graphic Adaptation

You'd think two of the guys who worked for decades on Casper and Richie Rich...
...couldn't produce something as...violent and visceral...as this!
Well, you'd be wrong!
Writer/editor Sid Jacobson and the late, great illustrator Ernie Colon took the 9/11 Commission's Report and made it into a must-read graphic novel!
BTW, a lot of the purple prose in the adaptation is taken verbatim from the original Report!
You can read the entire GN as an interactive presentation HERE.

Click on art to enlarge
As we mentioned earlier, the major newspaper syndicates rallied their cartoonists to pay homage to one of the darkest days in American history through their September 11, 2011 Sunday comic strips.
Here's the LINK to the main page where you can click on any individual strip.
Here's the LINK directly to a slide show of all the strips.
Note:
Some strips dedicated the entire piece to 9/11.
Some used the top tier of the strip (which a number of newpapers leave off).
Only the 9/11-oriented material is included at the links.

Design of the Week--Don't Threaten Americans!

Each week, we post a limited-edition design, to be sold for exactly 7 days, then replaced with another!
This week...with the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks coming up, what better way to show the American Spirit is unbowed than with a kool kollectible showing a classic image of a defiant Uncle Sam rolling up his sleeves ready to defend the American Way of Life against any and all who try to destroy it?
T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, mugs and other nifty stuff can be found HERE.

Cartoonists Pay Tribute to 9/11 on 10th Anniversary

The major comic syndicates have rallied their cartoonists to dedicate their strips on Sunday, September 11, 2011, to pay homage to those who lost their lives or were injured in the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
All of the nearly 100 participating strips, many of which appear on Sunday newspaper editions in color in their own special pullout section, will have an overarching September 11 remembrance theme.

In addition to the newspaper tribute, King Features Syndicate has partnered with several distinguished museums to host special exhibits featuring the cartoonists’ commemorative works, including:
