Written by Mario A Bruni and Bruce Spaulding Fuller and illustrated by Greg Capullo, each issue of the mini-comic (3"x4.5", the size of the actual trading cards) told the story of a particular card, in this case, Card #1 "The Invasion Begins"!
Note: with the exception of the cover and first page, the scans above are of two-page spreads which actually makes their original image size 6"x4.5"!
These never-reprinted comics were published two issues at a time in the same sort of boxes the original trading cards came in.
Sadly, only four issues in two box sets came out before the project ended.
Both of the writers were contributors to Gore Shriek, which still exists on the 'Net!
Artist Greg Capullo has gone on to a long, illustrious career at Marvel, Image, and DC!
