Friday Fun /CoronaVirus Comics LITTLE DOT COMICS "Living It Up"

Think you have it rough, sheltering in place from a contagious disease?
Your suffering is nothing compared to the Poor Little Rich Kid's!
If the doctor can leave, why can't the kids?
The M.D.'s just as potentially-communicable as they are!
You'll note that, at no point do Mrs Rich or her husband offer Freckles and Peewee's father employment at a better rate than the below-poverty wages he's obviously making!
Before you ask, this story from Harvey's Little Dot Comics #19 (1956) predates the Rich family's butler Cadbury's first appearance!
It also predates Richie appearing in any of the over fifty titles (including one-shots and Annuals) that would bear his name and dominate the Harvey Comics line from the 1960s through the line's demise in the early 1990s!

CoronaVirus Comics "Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic" Conclusion

...following the CDC's guidelines for assembling an emergency preparedness kit and listening on the radio for instructions about where the nearest designated safe zone is...
It was all a dream???
Here I was, congratulating the CDC on a job well-done and they have to pull the ultimate cliche out of their butts?
And how can someone dream about simultaneous events in other locations (like CDC headquarters) involving people he/she has never met?
I'll let it go since it does serve the purpose of informing the public in an entertaining manner!
But if this were an episode of Walking Dead...

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder / CoronaVirus Comics PLANET OF VAMPIRES "Quest for Blood" Conclusion

...(actually we haven't seen this, since there's no scene like it in the book.
Nor is there a cloaked, sinisterly-snarling vampire!
But it's a great Neal Adams/Dick Giordano cover, eh?)
Escaping the virus-created scientifically-advanced blood-suckers who inhabit the Dome in the center of a devastated Manhattan, our four surviving astronauts team up with the primitive, but human Street People.
Rigging a stolen aircraft as a booby-trap, they destroy two pursuing ships sent to recapture them.
There's a price to be paid...and one of the astronauts will pay it...
With the departure of writer/co-creator Larry Hama (GI Joe), John Albano (Jonah Hex) stepped in to the scripting slot, working off Hama's basic plot for the issue as well as several pages already laid out by penciler/co-creator Pat Broderick.
It'a a well-done job, making the transition pretty seamless between the two writers.
Be here next week, as the astronauts and street people take the fight back to the virus-infected "domies"!

CoronaVirus Comics "Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic" Part 2

...it's a pandemic that causes the infected to become zombies!
Do we really have to explain that?
It's not like zombies haven't become pop culture mainstays or anything like that!
But fear not!
Snark aside, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are on the case...
Mind you, the CDC does not advise you to drive recklessly, but, under the circumstances, it'll be forgiven!
Will our unnamed couple survive the zombie apocalypse due to being prepared by following CDC guidelines?

Monday Madness / CoronaVirus Comics "Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic" Part 1

While we're not facing a zombie pandemic...
...this comic, created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention presents good ideas for preparing for any pandemic, including the one we're presently experiencing!
It's a clever use of the obsession with zombies currently permeating pop culture (and I say this as someone who saw the original Night of the Living Dead in a theatre on 42nd Streen in NYC) to offer parallels between fictional and potentially-real situations, and showing how to prepare for them in an entertaining way!
(I say this as someone who saw the original Night of the Living Dead in a theatre on 42nd Street in NYC and wondered what took the rest of the world to catch up!)
To Be Continued
