The Future of Cool Christmas Cards is...CYBER-SANTA!

Want to send a Christmas card that's future-forward but also retro-kool?
My personal favorite is the one shown above: Santa Claus 2.0 where Future Santa (note the four arms!) meets his replacement...Cyber-Santa!
In the late 1950s-early 1960s we thought there was nothing science couldn't improve...including Santa Claus!
Galaxy Magazine's primary artist (both covers and interiors) in this era was Ed Emshwiller, who signed his work "Emsh".
Known for both detail and playfulness, Ed did a series of Christmas covers from 1951 to 1960 featuring a four-armed Santa in the future celebrating the Yuletide with humans and aliens alike!
They're included in our collection along with numerous comic book covers featuring Santa in the past, present, and future!
Order now, to have plenty of time to send them out!

Reading Room STRANGE GALAXY "Planetoid Monsters"

...and today, we present a re-visualization of the exact same script from the 1970s!
Illustrated by Oscar Stepancich, this story from Eerie Publications' Strange Galaxy #10 (1971) is an almost word-for-word retelling of "Space-Gods of Planetoid 50!" from Avon's Strange Worlds #7 (1952)!
Eerie both reprinted 1940s-50s material from defunct publishers like Avon and Gilmor, and did new versions by South American artists when the originals weren't "graphic" enough!
B/w magazines didn't follow the still-restrictive Comics Code Authority, so they could do more risque material (blood/violence/mild nudity) than color comics!

Friday Fun MONSTERS UNLIMITED "Best of #6"

The fun never stops when Stan Lee unleashes bad jokes...
...on classic movie and TV horror/sci-fi pix!
Would you call it "corny creepy"?
I do...
See you next Friday, boys and ghouls!

Reading Room STRANGE WORLDS "Space Gods of Planetoid 50!"

What if Chariots of the Gods? took place on another planet?
And Earthmen were the aliens thought to be "gods"?
Quite a different take on the same theme from Marvel's Man-Gods from Beyond the Stars, eh?
This look at the future from Avon's Strange Worlds #7 (1952) was illustrated by artistic mainstay Gene Fawcette, but the writer is unknown.
BTW, the tale was retold...with the same dialogue and captions...but totally-new artwork...in 1971!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder SEEKER 3000 "Medusae" Part 1

...if you think that, after a month posting zombies, I'm gonna remember where we left off, you're outta your mind!
Luckily, the comic itself provides a recap...
...all caught up?
Then let's jump back into the action...
That's a reasonable assessment, Carter.
But is it accurate?
Come back next Wednesday to find out!
