YouTube Wednesday: THE GREEN HORNET "Tunnel of Terror"

Continuing our weekly feature "YouTube Wednesday"...
It's time to take a look at the ORIGINAL film Green Hornet in his origin episode from the 1940 Universal Studios serial starring Gordon Jones as Britt Reid/Green Hornet and Key Luke as Kato!
While his full-face disguise looked different from the radio and comic version's surgeon-style mask, the characterization and plots were based on the radio show.
And, when masked, the movie Hornet sounded like the hero of the airwaves...because radio Hornet Al Hodge's distinctive voice was dubbed whenever newspaper publisher Britt Reid was masked!
All the supporting characters from the radio show made it to the movie version.
(Serials usually "trimmed" existing characters to keep the plots fast-paced.)
In fact, Kato received more time on screen than he usually got on the radio, as his scientific genius and other talents (including karate) were emphasized.
Oddly, in this incarnation, Kato was now Korean, not Fillipino or Japanese!
Enjoy "Chapter One: Tunnel of Terror"

Fantastic Femmes--Jamie Chung

For someone who made her debut on MTV's Real World, Jamie Chung has proven that even that pit of vapidness can produce talented alumni!
Though she's done primarily action/genre roles (like I'm complaining?), Jamie's also performed in more mainstream flicks like Burning Palms and the current Grown Ups.
(The only thing I'm complaing about is why Samurai Girl isn't available on DVD/Blu-Ray!)
She opens in Sucker Punch! this week, along with fellow Fantastic Femme Vanessa Hudgens!

Genre appearances include...
Once Upon a Time (Mulan)
7500 (Suzy Lee)
Man with the Iron Fists (Lady Silk)
Knife Fight (Kerstin)
Eden (Eden)
Premium Rush (Nima)
Sucker Punch! (Amber)
Princess Protection Program (Chelsea Barnes)
Samurai Girl (Heaven Kogo)
Sorority Row[2009](Clarie)

TV's New Wonder Woman in Costume!

We covered the controversy regarding the new Wonder Woman costume introduced in #600 of her comic book series HERE.
At that point, the consensus was that the new outfit was meant to be more "user friendly" for a live-action Wonder Woman, either in film or tv.
Well, here's Adrianne Palicki in costume, as Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman, as she'll appear in the pilot for a new David E Kelly-produced series.
BTW, Lynda Carter has gone on record as saying she likes it!
