Cosmo Cat & SuperDuper Mouse
Admittedly, when you think of Atomic Kommie Comics™, you don't usually think of funny animals.
Well, it's time you did...
We're reintroducing two long-lost superheroes from the 1940s. We've done that before in our Lost Heroes of the Golden Age of Comics™ line.
This time, the rub is...they're funny animals, and they're for kids only!
Cosmo Cat, like many other superheroes, was created by an accident that would kill most normal people (or animals). In his case it was dropping a bomb on his foot. The fact that he was standing in an atomic power plant at the time might have had something to do with his survival. Scientific accuracy was not one of the strong points of Golden Age stories...
After gaining the usual super-powers of invulnerability (which all animated animal characters have to an extent, Ask Wile E. Coyote!) super-strength, and flight, he renewed his powers by taking Cosmic Catnip Capsules! Despite having the power of flight, he rode in a cat-rocket when traveling from his base on the Moon to battle crime on Earth.
He was one of the last of a wave of 1940s super-animals including Super Rabbit (ironically from Timely/Marvel) and Hoppy the Marvel Bunny, the animal surrogate of the Golden Age Captain Marvel.
We're also offering the FIRST of that wave...Super Mouse (although we're calling him "SuperDuper Mouse" to avoid wrath of the owners of the Big Man in Blue! (and, no, Super Mouse was not a DC character!)
Super Mouse also took a controlled substance to maintain his powers, in his case cheese produced from the milk of a "super-cow"! (We won't dwell on the implications of chemical/radiation-enhanced animals, at least not while chewing on our genetically-manipulated cheeseburger...)
At any rate, we're offering several images of each furry hero...
CosmoCat 1, CosmoCat 2, CosmoCat 3, CosmoCat 4, SuperDuper Mouse 1, & SuperDuper Mouse 2
Please note: while we offer the usual assortment of mugs, mousepads and other tchochkies, the clothing is infant, toddler, and kid sizes only!

"...will trade rare baseball card for gas..."
We at Atomic Kommie Comics™ are pop culture fans.
But we're also sports fans.
And, as any well-read sorts do, we keep up with current events.
So when the opportunity presented itself to combine all three aspects in our work...well we just jumped at the chance!
Last weekend, one of the few surviving Honus Wagner T-206 baseball cards was auctioned for over $1,000,000! A newsperson, after reading the story, commented "well. I guess the old owner will be able to fill HIS gas tank now!"
Cue cartoon lightbulb and *PING* sound effect!
Thus was born our newest pop culture collectible... "Afford to fill this mother F@#%ing Gas Tank!" Bumper Stickers, combining sports (baseball), current events (outrageous cost of fuel), and pop culture (trading card collecting) all at one shot on the place where your opinion will be seen by all: the bumper of your car!
Buy one!
Buy ten (You'll save a dollar on each if you do!)!

Miss Cairo Jones, comics' FIRST female detective!
Created by Bob (Supergirl) Oksner, Miss Cairo Jones was supposed to be a male detective, but because fiction in general, and comics in particular, were already flooded with them, Cairo became a female detective!
Along with new writer Jerry Albert, Oksner illustrated the strip's entire run from 1945 to 1947.
Miss Jones made only one appearance outside of her newspaper comic strip, in a one-shot comic book reprinting the first strip storyline. It is from that issue that we've digitized and remastered the cover art that Atomic Kommie Comics™ now re-presents as part of our Heroines™ line of kool kollectibles which also includes Jane Arden: Crime Reporter, Cave Girl, Jet Dream & Her StuntGirl Counter-Spies, Friday Foster, Miss Fury, Miss Masque (Masquerade), Molly O'Day: Super-Sleuth, Annie Oakley, Phantom Lady, Tiger Girl, and UnderCover Girl!

Note: After July 30th, calendars on the linked website should read 2009, not 2008! However, PoD supplier CafePress isn't always as prompt on implementing and updating promised template changes as they should be. If it does read 2008, don't despair! Just bookmark the page and come back in a day or so to try again! (and my apologies in advance if that's what happens!)
And, as we always say; BUY PROJECT SUPERPOWERS!
If it wasn't for Alex Ross reintroducing these cool characters in all-new adventures, they'd just be fading four-color memories for old fanboys like us here at Atomic Kommie Comics™ !

Notes on audio goodies...
Two items I've recently acquired that have proven invaluable...
1) I have a huge collection of old radio shows and "kids" records on vinyl, including stuff not available on-line or on cd (like the Raiders of the Lost Ark: the Movie on Record, a 1981 release with dialogue, music and sfx from the film and NO narration!). With the ION USB TurnTable, I rip those old albums to cd with ease using Audacity (for my personal use, only, of course)! (Believe it or not, I don't have an IPod, and don't want one. I much prefer my cassette and cd walkmans!) Got it at Costco for under $100!
2) And in terms of listening to those walkmans (walkmen?), I found I had to wear a bulky pair of over-the-ears studio headphones to get decent bass for, among other things, soundtracks by Korngold, Williams, or Goldsmith (Robin Hood, ESB, and STtMP, respectively). Not the most comfortable things to wear in the dead of summer while commuting...
I looked around for smaller headsets, and ended up getting a pair of V-Moda Bass earbuds.
BEST bass I've ever heard in buds (I no longer have to use the bass-boost setting on the walkman), plus they effectively block outside sound (very important in the subway!).
