Reading Room TRAGG AND THE SKY GODS "Battle for a World" Conclusion Zorek leads the alien Yargonians against Tragg and his allies!
The first major battle of the war ends in a resounding defeat for Zorek, but not without cost to the good guys including new-found ally Dazz and Yargonian Ferenk, whose last thoughts were of his unrequited love, Keera, who loves only Tragg, who loves only Lorn...
This never-reprinted tale by writer Don Glut and artist Dan Spiegle from Gold Key's Tragg and the Sky Gods #7 (1976) ends the primary story arc of the series, though the Yargonians would remain as supporting characters.
The next issue goes off on a totally-different tangent, as it...
a) introduces mysticism into the prehistoric world of Tragg, where science held sway!
b) crosses over to two other Gold Key titles, featuring cameos by their lead characters, and establishing a timeline for a unified Gold Key universe within those titles!
c) features a villain who had previously-appeared in both those books...though chronologically this would be his first appearance!
You won't be after you read the next issue of Tragg and the Sky Gods, next Friday!

Reading Room STAR*REACH CLASSICS "Origin of God!"

The writer-artist who created Thanos and re-defined "cosmic" presents...
...a simple, but effective visualization by Jim Starlin as shown in Eclipse's Star*Reach Classics #1 (1984).
The observant among you noted the copyright next to the title reads "1974", not "1984"!
That's because this one-pager first appeared in Star*Reach #4 (1974)...but it was in black and white!
I thought, for on-line re-presentation, the color version would be more effective!

Here's a fascinating tale that makes perfect sense...
...up to the last two panels, when it all falls apart!
If Harlow disappeared after the machine merely slowed, why didn't the rest of them disappear after it was wrecked?
Wouldn't the logical thing to do be to insure the machine be kept running at that slightly-lower level?
I suspect writer Carl Wessler didn't think through the consequences of the machine's destruction in this never-reprinted tale from Atlas' Strange Tales of the Unusual #10 (1957)!
What's your opinion, dear reader?

Reading Room NORGE BENSON "Springtime on Pluto"

The writer of this series is as scientifically-literate as Don (the Con) Trump...
...if his descriptions of Pluto's "global warming" are any indicaction!
This Al Walker-illustrated tale from Fiction House's Planet Comics #19 (1942) is over 70 years old, but it's just as entertainingly-hokey as the day it was created!
