Friday Fun / Humor in a Jugular Vein CRAZY "Frank N. Stein"

For the Halloween season, we're gonna tickle your funny bone...

...with a bunch of rarely (if ever) reprinted horror-themed humor strips from the 1950s!
If imitation is "the sincerest form of flattery", then Atlas Comics was easily the most sincere company in comics with no less than four MAD / PANIC imitations; CrazyRiotSnafu, and Wild between 1953 and 1956!
Besides humor specialists like Dan DeCarlo, the sheer volume of Atlas humor titles gave the opportunity for artists who usually did Westerns or horror or sci-fi to expand their range, like this tale illustrated (and possibly written) by veteran Bill Everett, who proved more than up to the task with this spoof from Crazy V1N1 (1953).
Note: Marvel reincarnated the Crazy title several times over the decades including a long-running b/w MAD-style magazine in the 70s-80s.

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder LOST WORLD "Return to Earth"

When Last We Left Our Future-Based Hero...

...why do I even bother?
BTW, the "Lost World" of the title is not Earth, but Lyssa's home planet...

The artist round-robin ends with rookie illustrator Graham Ingels taking over as of this strip from Planet Comics #24 (1943)!
Ingels would become far more famous (or infamous, depending on your point of vew) as part of the EC Comics crew in the 1950s, where he earned the nickname "Ghastly" Graham for his work on Tales from the Crypt and other horror and sci-fi titles!

Reading Room WORLD OF FANTASY "To Build a Robot!"

Does this tale take place in the present...or the future?
Or has it already happened, and we don't know it?
Considering the way industry has thwarted the introduction of the electric car, is it that far-fetched someone for their own ulterior motives is trying to supress mobile artificial intelligence?
Or have we just seen the Teminator and Matrix films too many times?
Plotter Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, penciler Jack Kirby, and inker Christopher Rule had their own take in Atlas' World of Fantasy #18 (1959), decades before James Cameron or the Wachowskis...and it didn't take multiple films to tell it, just four pages!
