Wednesday Worlds of Wonder CHRONICLES OF GENGHIS GRIMTOAD "Conclusion"

A note before we proceed...
Written by Alan Grant & John Wagner and illustrated by Ian Gibson, the series appeared in 2-page installments in all 20 issues of Marvel UK's bi-weekly Strip Magazine (their version of Marvel USA's Epic Magazine) and ended, incomplete, when the title was cancelled.
The strip was compiled along with the unpublished material to finish the story for a graphic novel version published in 1990.
We'll point out where the previously-published material ends, and the previously-unpublished material begins...
Back to our regularly-scheduled story...
Trapped by the evil Kang's forces, the rag-tag group is forced to hope the inept sorcerer Genghis Grimtoad can save their lives, though his "magic" has been less than helpful up to this point...
Note: this is where the original series stopped when the magazine Strip! was abruptly cancelled.
Sadly, there hasn't been a Book Two...

9/11 Report: the Graphic Adaptation

You'd think two of the guys who worked for decades on Casper and Richie Rich...
...couldn't produce something as...violent and visceral...as this!
Well, you'd be wrong!
Writer/editor Sid Jacobson and illustrator Ernie Colon took the 9/11 Commission's Report and made it into a must-read graphic novel!
BTW, a lot of the purple prose in the adaptation is taken verbatim from the original Report!
You can read the entire GN as an interactive presentation HERE.

Monday Madness FANTASTIC COMICS "Space Smith and the Greatest Menace of All!"

I'd say the editors of Fantastic Comics felt this strip needed a "freshening-up"...
...by introducing a comic-relief character!
Apparently the audience didn't care for the new direction since this never-reprinted story from Fox's Fantastic Comics #22 (1941) was Space Smith's final Golden Age appearance!
Be here next Monday as we present a new strip that'll embody the concept of "Monday Madness"!

Reading Room CAPTAIN SCIENCE COMICS "When Time Stood Still"

It's the gift that keeps on giving...
...a trip through time and space on New Year's Eve!
Illustrated by Myron Fass, this never-reprinted tale from Avon's Captain Science Comics #4 (1952) is a classic example of how weird and wild (and totally-illogical) 1950s sci-fi can be!
