Like many people, Chicagoan Alan Weiss came to New York City to seek fame and fortune...
...and the Midwestern man who became an established comics illustrator shared a (supposedly only-slightly exaggerated version of his first days in NYC in the late 1960s...
Note: may by NSFW due to a couple of common-to-the-era racial stereotypes in this never reprinted tale.

Trump Reading Room DUCK AND COVER Part 1

As Don the Con prepares to get us into a nuclear shootout with North Korea...
...it behooves us to look back at how the government thought we'd have to deal with a potential nuclear attack!
As you might have guessed, this was a comic booklet that was handed out to students in the 1950s-1960s who were shown the famous Duck and Cover movie in their classroom!

Reading Room TEEN BEAM "Monkees Family Album"

As we mentioned earlier, the 2nd (and last) issue of DC's Teen Beat/Beam had comics/cartoons...
Here are Joe Orlando's renderings of TV's Monkees...
This wide shot was published sideways on one page.
We've swung it 90 degrees to its' proper orientation.
This is a two-page spread with a very rare (at the time) "gutter bleed"
