Mod Love for the beach!

Our "sister" RetroBlog™ True Love Comics Tales™ has been presenting romance comic stories from the 1940s to the 1970s, and this this one from the Psychedelic '60s is one of our particular favorites!
Not only is it colorful enough to make our eyes bleed, but it's one of the few comic book stories drawn by a famous fine artist,  French pop artist Michel Quarez. when he was already established as a "fine artist"!
In most cases, like Presidential portrait painter Everett Raymond Kinstler,  the artist's comics work is part of their "misspent youth" period. (Although Kinstler happily acknowledges his comics work HERE!)

At any rate, we liked the cover art so much that we've put it on a line of kool kollectibles absolutely perfect for use as beachwear or summer loungewear!
You can also find the actual story pages on...

Reading Room: SPACE WESTERN "Hank Roper and the Riddle of Skull Valley"

One of Spurs Jackson's Space Vigilantes gets a solo tale...
...in Space Western Comics #42.
Good thing there were enough aliens to go around...
Let's just say scientific accuracy was not a priority to the writers of this book.
While we don't know who the writer was, the art was by Stan Campbell, who did most of the stories in Space Western.
Both of Spurs' aides, Hank and Strong Bow, had solo backup stories during the title's run.
They didn't always fight interplanetary invaders, there were Commie spies to be dealt with as well!
We'll be presenting more of these solo tales during the lead-up to the opening of the summer flick Cowboys & Aliens.

We're offering a line of Space Western collectibles, perfect for summer wear at the beach, or the movie theatre when you go see Cowboys & Aliens. (C'mon, you know you're going!)

YouTube Wednesday: ONE MILLION YEARS BC & Raquel Welch!

Since we're presenting the John Bolton comic adaptation of the movie over at Secret Sanctum of Captain Video™,  we had the urge to look for video clips from the film itself...
Here's the trailer for the movie...

Here's the catfight between Raquel Welch and the equally-hot, but under-publicised Martine Beswicke (who had already done a catfight scene in From Russia with Love and would do another in Prehistoric Women aka Slave Girls)

And here's an interview with Raquel Welch about appearing in the movie...

The FINAL Wonder Woman Costume from the TV Pilot!

The costume Adrianne Palicki wore at the end of the rejected Wonder Woman tv pilot written and produced by David E. Kelley...
...and the costume as originally-shown in promo photos.
When they actually filmed the pilot, the blue boots shown above were red, like the bustier.
