Cowboy hero vs bug-eyed monsters from outer space!
You think Cowboys and Aliens was the first?
It sure as hell wasn't the first comic / graphic novel that presented the concept!
59 years ago, comic books were telling tales of how resourceful Westerners defeated invaders from beyond the stars!
And this week, you and your kids can collect (and wear) the stuff they should have had in the Five & Dimes back in 1952, but didn't!
We're talkin' kids' and adult t-shirts, mugs, magnets, buttons, etc.!
But order now, because the Space Cowboy is headin' outta town in one week!
And he may never be comin' this way again!

All Calendars REDUCED from $19.99 to $14.99
There are pop culture categories and subjects we've wanted in 12-month calendar form as presents for others (or for ourselves), but were never produced!
So, we decided to create them ourselves, using the wildest...rarest...kitchiest comic book, pulp magazine covers and movie posters we could find, each image digitally-restored and remastered from hi-rez scans of the original items, NO reprints or low-rez files! (Would we do that to you?)

YouTube Wednesday(ish): Barbarella the Movie!
Note: this was actually published early Thursday, but Blogger's outage temporarily deleted it. When it reposted, it posted with Friday's date.
We've talked about it for the past couple of days in connection with the comic strip we've been presenting, so here it is...
You want more? go buy the movie!

Barbarella!
(at least the trailer...)
And now the opening credits...
..then Killer Dolls...
...then a VERY warm iceman...
...then the Excessive Machine...
...and, finally, the ending!
You want more? go buy the movie!
Blogger Outage
Thursday's posted entry is still somewhere in the ether.
It's frustrating since I pride myself on the fact that I've been posting daily, including weekends and holidays for almost two solid years, and now, until Thursday reappears, it looks like I slacked off!

Reading Room: BARBARELLA 1.2
When Last We Left Our Heroine...
Barbarella crash-landed on the planet Lythion where, after a number of...interesting...situations, she managed to reunite two long-feuding races, ending their centuries-long war. With her ship destroyed, the amazing woman gets a lift from a conveniently-arriving space freighter and is off to another astounding adventure on other worlds...
We'll return to Barbarella in the near future, after we catch our breath...
It's interesting to see various plot elements and characters that Roger Vadim and Claude Brulé re-composited in the 1960s movie's script in their original form.
