Tuesday is Election Day 2025...the Day We Start Saving America!

Though It's an "Off-Year", Your Participation Will Have a Major Effect!

Sadly, this story, published almost 75 years ago is as relevant today as it was in 1952, with the basic percentages of voter participation unchanged!
...unless not enough of those heroes actually go to vote!
Here's a handy (very) basic guide...
Illustrated by Warren Kremer and Al Avision, this one-shot published by Harvey Comics in 1952 (72 years ago) was offered for only a couple of pennies a copy to any group (even Republicans) who wanted to utilize it to get out the vote!
Note: Our gratitude to the ever-amazing Kracalactaka for the full-color scans of this ultra-rare comic!
Now, unless you want things to stay as they are (or get worse)...if you're over 18 and under 110...

Space Force Saturdays ALIEN ENCOUNTERS "Earth Invasion"

There's a twist ending to this alien invasion tale you won't see coming...
...if you're under 35!
I'm serious!
Ah, video arcades...
Kids today have no idea how important those darkened chambers filled with video consoles and pinball machines were to us in the pre-XBox/PlayStation/Nintendo days...and how much money we spent, quarter-by-quarter, in them!
Yeah, there's still Chuck E CheeseDave & Busters, and their ilk, but those are kiddie venues!
Written by Larry Shell and illustrated by Steve (Swamp Thing) Bissette, this never-reprinted tale from FantaCo's Alien Encounters one-shot (1981) captures the long-lost era perfectly.

Frightful Friday Fun CRAZY "Drag-ula!"

No, it's not a tale of a transvestite Transylvanian...
...(that's Rocky Horror Picture Show) but our final Dracula tale is a humorous look at the original "bat man" from Atlas' CRAZY #2 (1954)
As was usual with the lead tale in Atlas' CRAZY, this tale was lovingly-rendered by the amazing Bill Everett!
Heck, Bill might even have written it, since he had a number of scripting credits already!

Halloween Reading Room: SUPERSNIPE "Halloween" Conclusion

...Koppy (SuperSnipe) McFad (wearing his original costume), celebrates Halloween by trick-or-treating with his friends Herlock Domes and Roxy, and ends up at the Van Welty mansion where the trio inadvertently helps an assassination attempt on the mansion's rich owner.
When news reports about the police suspecting costumed kids reach Koppy and Herlock, they investigate in an attempt to clear themselves, discovering the "policeman" who tricked them was a fraud in a rented costume!
After the costume store owner gives them the name of the man who rented the police uniform, the now-plainclothes heroes go in search of the criminal...

Usually, Koppy McFad triumphs despite his rather "Inspector Clouseau"-type antics, but this time he not only figures out the clues (with a couple of handy coincidences), but deliberately puts himself in danger to keep the criminals in the store until the police arrive!
He may not have super powers, but SuperSnipe proves himself to be a real hero...

Story and art for this tale from SuperSnipe Comics V2N12 (1945) by George Marcoux, who did all the "SuperSnipe Universe" strips himself!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder CHAMBER OF DARKNESS "Music from Beyond!" aka "Music of Erich Zann"

H P Lovecraft's "Music of Erich Zann" Served as the Basis For This Terror Tale...

...which featured the return of an EC Comics stalwart to horror comics!
Adapted by writer Roy Thomas and illustrated by Johnny Craig (with some redrawing by Marie Severin), the story from Marvel's Chamber of Darkness #5 (1970) is pretty successful...within the limitations of the Comics Code Authority's restrictions.
(Ironically, the Code "loosened up" with some major revisions after this story was created and published.
As pointed out HERE at the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund's site: "The 1971 code relaxed the restrictions on crime comics and lifted the ban on horror comics [while still prohibiting the use of “horror” and “terror” in titles].")
Note: You may have noticed a b/w splash page just before the end of the story.
When it was reprinted in Marvel's b/w magazine Masters of Terror #2 (1975), the spash was inserted into the story with the last two captions from the previous page's final panel.
Plus, the reprint changed the title to the Lovecraft prose tale's "Music of Erich Zann".
We hope you've enjoyed a month of Lovecraft comic adaptations, and suggest you continue to check us out every Wednesday for more Worlds of Wonder!
