CoronaVirus Comics REAL HEROES "Plague Vanquished"

Not all comics heroes wear capes...
..as this tale of Edward Jenner, the doctor who saved us from smallpox, proves!
Who says comics ain't educational?
Not me, kiddo!
This never-reprinted story from Parent Magazines' Real Heroes #15 (1946) was one of several graphic dramatizations of Jenner's achievement which has saved countless lives since its' introduction!
Depending on how long the Covid-19 lockdown continues, we may have time to run all of them!
Sadly, both writer and illustrator(s) are unknown!

Is THIS Our Future?

Is this our future...
...thanks to the ineptitude of President Don da Con?
Legendary artist Basil Wolverton did these illustrations for articles in a religious organization's magazine about the Book of Revelations.
They were later compiled, along with others, into a multi-volume version of the Bible by that same organization which covered from Genesis to Revelations!
Here's the final image in the series that was so shocking, the editors initially refused to publish it!
Is this our future???

Monday Madness / CoronaVirus Comics YEAR ZERO

A new epic that offers a global look at a pandemic-created Zombie Apocalypse...
 ..from the perspectives of...
A Japanese hitman...
A Mexican street urchin...
An Afghan military aide...
A Polar research scientist...
A Midwestern American survivalist...
Five survivors of a horrific epidemic who must draw upon their unique skills and instincts to survive on a planet filled with shambling undead.
Created by Ben Percy (Wolverine) and Ramon Rosanas (Star Wars: Age of Resistance), Year Zero wrestles with weighty moral and theological questions posed by the pandemic such as "who do you think is worth saving...and what happens when you don't think they're worth the risk to yourself" and investigates the plague's cause and a possible cure!
Note: Though it's from the same publisher as Resistance, it's not a "shared universe" title, but a standalone series!
Sort of like how the 1950s books Atomic War and World War III were from the same publisher and featured the same basic premise, but went off in different directions!

Friday Fun / CoronaVirus Comics CEREBUS IN HELL "Super-Cerebus Vs. Covid-19"

Dave Sim's Cerebus the Aardvark has been a comics standout since the late 1970s, running more than 300 issues...
Originally a parody of Roy Thomas & Barry Smith's Conan the Barbarianthe Cerebus comics stand out for their experimentation in both storytelling format and editorial content, often mirroring the creator's sometimes controversial beliefs.
The current on-line series Cerebus in Hell, is no different, mirroring the CoronaVirus pandemic and the US government response!

CoronaVirus Comics AMAZING ADULT FANTASY "Plague"

As Don da Con's paranoiac nationalism grows...
...lets consider a lesson in what such obsessions can lead to, courtesy of a Cold War parable...
I doubt Spider-Man and Dr Strange co-creators, writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, ever thought that someone with similar tendencies to the star of this tale from Atlas' Amazing Adult Fantasy #12 (1962) would ever sit in the Oval Office...
(Come to think of it, it's doubtful the Cheeto Benito would ever send any country anything simply as a "gesture of good will"!)

CoronaVirus Comics STRANGE TALES "I Saved Mankind!"

I love stories with ironic "switch" endings...
...even if the switch produces a tragic result, like this one!
Illustrator John Forte's aliens in this tale from Atlas's Strange Tales #43 (1956) just aren't very...well...alien!
Other than that, it's a clever story (with slightly-stilted dialogue) by a scripter whose identity has been lost to the mists of time!

Monday Madness / CoronaVirus Comics RESISTANCE

A global pandemic leaves hundreds of millions dead in its wake...
It starts present-day/day after tomorrow...then goes off in an unexpected direction!
That's the unexpectedly-timely premise of a new comic series from AWA Studios by J. Michael Straczynski, creator of Babylon 5 and writer of acclaimed runs on Amazing Spider-Man, Mighty Thor, and Superman: Earth One, and Mike Deodato Jr., blockbuster artist of The Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Infinity Wars.
You can see the first issue (for free) in three parts, formatted as a webcomic...
Dare you not read it?
More importantly...Dare You Not Order It?
