Wednesday Worlds of Wonder LOST WORLD "From the Past...Hope!"

...to change the odds for Hunt Bowman and Lyssa as they fight legions of VoltaMen to free future Earth from alien domination!
Bruce's VoltaMan body is a strategic asset beyond their wildest expectations, as the new allies will soon discover!
Spoiler: you can discover why by looking HERE!
Though Lily Renee is the primary artist on this never-reprinted tale from Fiction House's Planet Comics #36 (1945), there's some retouching, mostly on the new characters' faces, which appears to be the work of Eisner/Iger Studio head Will Eisner himself!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder LOST WORLD "Save the Declaration of Independence"

Though Fiction House's ongoing comic titles didn't acknowledge Christmas...
The VoltaMen had already adapted Nazi uniforms and tactics, but this was the story that introduced their "Yoda-style" speech patterns...which are actually English, but with ancient Latin sentence structure!
That, and the next story, which introduces a "Scooby Gang" from the past as ongoing characters, are indications that the writer behind the "Thorncliffe Herrick" pen-name has changed!
This never-reprinted story from Fiction House's Planet Comics #37 (1945) is actually out of order, since it takes place during Hunt and Lyssa's trip to Washington DC, and they've been back in New York City for several issues.
I suspect it was a sequel to the heavily-edited story from Planet Comics #25 and a "try-out" for both artist Lily Renee and whoever the writer is.
The Iger/Eisner Studio, which supplied almost all the comics stories for Fiction House's books was notorious for never leaving something they paid for unpublished!
BTW, the alien Hydrads never returned to the series.

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder LOST WORLD "Coney Carousel Combat"

 Still in New York City...

...Hunt Bowman and Lyssa encounter VoltaMen in, of all places, the legendary Coney Island!
This never-reprinted tale from Fiction House's Planet Comics #35 (1945) shows some of the famous rides at the time in Coney Island, including the Parachute Jump, Cyclone roller coaster, the Wonder Wheel ferris wheel, and the B&B Carousell (yes that's how it's spelled)!
All four still stand, having been restored/rebuilt and recently-granted landmark status.
All but the Parachute Jump are still functional.
No doubt artist Lily Renee rode them, since she lived in Manhattan and studied at both the Art Students League and the Cartoonists and Illustrators School (now known as the School of Visual Arts) and was only a subway ride away...

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder LOST WORLD "Carnage at Camys"

Having returned to America from Europe...

...Hunt Bowman and Lyysa continue the fight against the alien VoltaMen!
Note: the department store's name "Camy's" is an anagram of "Macy's", at the time the most famous department store in the world!
This never-reprinted tale from Fiction House's Planet Comics #34 (1945) is set in New York City, but there are no recognizable landmarks as in other Lost World stories set in specific locales like Paris!
Odd, since artist Lily Renee lived in Manhattan and studied at both the Art Students League and the Cartoonists and Illustrators School (now known as the School of Visual Arts)...
