Countdown to Halloween 2019 begins Tuesday!

We're pleased to be included in the...
Starting October 1st, we'll be posting stuff once a week on five different RetroBlogs, so there'll be daily posts from us Monday thru Friday!
Monday
Secret Sanctum of Captain Video kicks off the week with adaptations of two of American International's 1960s "Edgar Allan Poe" flicks...
The Raven, starring Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre, and Jack Nicholson!
War-Gods of the Deep, which is actually an original sci-fi screenplay set in the early 1900s, making it a "steampunk before it was steampunk" flick!
Tuesday
Seduction of the Innocent continues the horror with the psychedelic adventures of the British Victorian-era monster-fighter Sir Leo...
...yeah, it's as weird and off-beat as it sounds!
BTW, there are several never-seen-in-the-US tales in this batch, so there's another good reason not to miss this one!
Wednesday
True Love Comics Tales offers our annual collection of sci-fi, fantasy and horror...
...all with romance as the central plot!
Thursday
Hero Histories covers the first few, never-reprinted appearances of plainclothes monster-fighter Werewolf Hunter...
...who had a surprisingly-long run in the back of Fiction House's military-oriented Rangers Comics!
Friday
We end the week with the comic book adventures of real-life magician and debunker Dr William (Bill) Neff in Horror Comics of the 1950s!
The series has links to the pulp-radio-comic character The Shadow, since creator Walter Gibson (aka Maxwell Grant) wrote all the stories and Bob Powell, who illustrated a number of The Shadow's pulp and comic book tales during the Golden Age also drew Neff's adventures!
Plus, here at Atomic Kommie Comics, our three ongoing features will be horror-themed!
Monday Madness posts will be the never-seen-in-America Dracula humor strips from the original Spanish-language Dracula comic from 1971!
Note: the 12-issue magazine series was translated and reprinted in England, then the first 6 issues were packaged as a trade paperback by Warren (Creepy/Eerie/Vampirella) Publications!
But neither English-language version ran these one-pagers despite the fact the strip is wordless!
Wednesday Worlds of Wonder will peek into the apocalyptic future of...The Walking Dead!
No, not that Walking Dead!
This one...
Yes, gang, we're returning to the never-reprinted original Walking Dead, from 30 years ago, over a decade before the one the TV show is based on!
And our Friday Fun posts will be covers and pages from the never-reprinted humor magazines Monsters to Laugh With / Monsters Unlimited and Monster Madness, featuring scripting/captioning by the late, great Stan Lee!

The final part of our Summer Mini-Blogathon is underway...
Already up are...
(Yes, it was reprinted in a Marvel Masterworks a decade ago, but those are extremely-expensive and didn't sell very well, so most of you have never seen this tale from 53 years ago!)
We gave equal time to Fury's DC counterpart, Sgt. Rock, presenting his never-reprinted D-Day adventure!
But that's not all, True Believer!

The Mini-Blogathons Return...

Starting next week, our annual Mini-Blogathons will be back...
We had so much D-Day material available, that we've decided to use some of it for the blogathons, beginning with Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos hitting the beach on D-Day!
Yes, it was reprinted in a Marvel Masterworks a decade ago, but those are extremely-expensive and didn't sell very well, so most of you have never seen this tale from 53 years ago!
We're giving equal time to Fury's counterpart, Sgt. Rock, presenting his never-reprinted D-Day adventure!
Both of these sagas will appear at (where else) War: Past, Present & Future!
It was really crowded at Normandy on June 6th, 1944 since Blackhawk and his team were also there, so it's only fair we present their never-reprinted D-Day adventure...which also doubles as their never-revealed origin...at Hero Histories!
Since we're phasing back in to regular blogging after the harrowing events of the past few months, we're limiting the Blogathons, which, while fun, tend to be exhausting to produce!
Starting Monday, we'll be back to daily posts here at Atomic Kommie Comics, continuing the ongoing features where we left off!
In addition, True Love Comics Tales will return to weekly posting on Wednesday, beginning with our usual Summertime "beach read", a book-length Gothic novel!

Did You Miss ANY of the Chapters of the Story DC Comics REFUSES to Publish...MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL?

We Ran the ENTIRE Serial...
...and now you can read the entire, unexpurgated tale for the first time in decades!

Saturday, September 1, 2018

Did You Miss the Fourth Week's Chapters of the Story DC Comics REFUSES to Publish...MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL?

Did you know we cracked the Captain Marvel Code which had been ending each chapter!
Remember how I told you the Captain Marvel Code-Finder was a mail-in premium that would enable you to understand the cryptic messages (like this one) in stories?
And that, without it, you'd be as helpless as an Axis spy to figure out what the message was!
And that I didn't have one of the HTF and expensive Code Finders?
Well, guess what?
We don't need it!
On the back of the Captain Marvel Club Membership Card (shown here) is that code!
Since we believe the story has historical significance, and the racism (which we abhor) is part of the tale, RetroBlogs dropped the plans we had for various summer mini-blogathons to re-present the entire, unexpurgated story scanned from the original issues of Fawcett's Captain Marvel Adventures at Hero Histories and Not Safe For Work Comics!
Enjoy, and keep up with the saga Monday through Friday!
