Reading Room TRAGG AND THE SKY GODS "Project: Sabre:Fang" Conclusion

...Yargonian Commander Zorek experiments on Gorth, the Neanderthal who feared and despised Tragg and Lorn.
Adding genetic meterial from a sabre-tooth tiger to Gorth's DNA and exposing him to a "evolvo-ray", the alien transforms the caveman into a man-cat hybrid who attacks Tragg!
The series takes a new turn, as Tragg looks for previously-unknown allies against the Yargonians!
Be here next Friday for more caveman vs alien vs dinosaur action!

Friday Fun TRAGG AND THE SKY GODS "Project: Sabre:Fang" Part 1

I really believe there should be a hyphen in "Sabre:Fang"...
...but it's possible Yargonians have different grammatical rules!
(They are aliens, after all...)
Writer Don Glut and artist Dan Spiegle continue the interstellar soap opera in the never-reprinted Gold Key's Tragg and the Sky Gods #4 (1976)!

Holiday Reading Room CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL "Santa's Red Red Nose"

What happens if Kris Kringle gets sick on Christmas Eve?
This tale from St John's Chistmas Carnival (1952) 100-page one-shot gives you the answer!
It was all a dream!
Thank Heavens!
The thought of a Christmas without Santa is just too much to bear! ;-)
This tale (and the entire Christmas Carnival 100-page 25-cent book) were published twice!
Once in 1952 by Ziff-Davis and again in 1955 by St John Publishing, which bought the Ziff-Davis comics line's material when the publisher liquidated that division after the "Seduction of the Innocent" witch hunt!
Ironic, since Ziff-Davis Comics was one of the least-offensive publishers on the magazine racks!
The writer and artist(s) are unknown.

Holiday Reading Room SPELLBOUND "When You Believe"

Considering A Christmas Story was directed by the guy who did Black Christmas (1974)..
...it's almost a miracle the holiday classic didn't end up like this Xmas tale of a boy and his toy gun!
Rendered beautifully by Bill Everett, this Yuletide tale from Atlas' Spellbound #16 (1953) appeared during the height of the horror comics craze of the early 1950s.
The identity of the writer is, sadly, unknown.
When the story was reprinted in Marvel's Weird Wonder Tales #3 (1974), the first panel of the opening page was slightly-modified, eliminating almost all the text!
I have no idea why!

What "America" does Alabama's Roy Moore Want?

Is it this one?
Alabama Congressional candidate Roy Moore wants to return slavery to America (as well as eliminate womens' right to vote), as detailed in an interview he gave in 2011!
During Moore’s appearance, one host said he supported getting rid of every amendment after the Tenth Amendment.
"That would eliminate many problems," Moore said in response to the host on the audio KFile unearthed.
"You know people don't understand how some of these amendments have completely tried to wreck the form of government that our forefathers intended," he continued.
Moore criticized the 17th Amendment, which calls for the direct election of senators by voters rather than state legislatures, and the 14th Amendment, which was passed during the Reconstruction period following the Civil War and guaranteed citizenship and equal rights and protection to former slaves.
Amendments incorporated into the U.S. Constitution after the 10th Amendment expand civil rights protections granted by the Bill of Rights.
They include the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery, the 15th Amendment, which prohibited the federal and state governments from denying citizens the right to vote based on that person's race, and the 19th Amendment, which extended suffrage to women.
Click HERE to see the America Roy Moore and President Don (the Con) Trump (who recorded a robocall for the Alabaman and backs the racist/sexist) apparently want to restore!

Design of the Week Redux YULETIDE HOMICIDE

Each week, we post a limited-edition design, to be sold for exactly 7 days, then replaced with another!
(Unless it sells really well, as this design has!
Then we give it another week!)
This week...it's a Yuletide homicide!
A never-reprinted cover from the 1960s featuring the police investigating the apparent demise of Kris Kringle!
Whodunit?
We have no idea, but it'll be a crime if you don't order a kool kollectible using this artwork for a loved one (particularly one in law enforcement) as a fun stocking stuffer!
