I'm Quitting--Before the Easter Bunny Shows up with a Cannon!

Ah, the Silver Age of Comics!
When situations like the one portrayed above were the norm, rather than the exception.
From Hot Wheels #6 (1970), the last issue of the first comic based on a TV series based on a toy line.
Ironically, it was the Christmas issue...

Long before He-Man, Micronauts, GI Joe and Transformers presented toys as animated action heroes, Hanna-Barbera's Hot Wheels animated series (based on the highly-successful Mattel toys) featured a politically-correct team of teens battling evil while engaging in auto races in nifty cars (with their seat belts firmly buckled, of course)!
Yes, it sounds like Scooby Doo without the annoying talking dog...

Holiday Reading Room SANTA CLAUS FUNNIES "Santa Claus in Trouble"

Ever hear "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"?
...well, when that woman is the Ice Queen, even ol' Kris Kringle better watch out!
Some observations...
Boy, the Ice Queen is a real...#itch, ain't she?
Santa has "magic snowshoes"?
Wonder what other kool gimmicks he has lying around the toyshop...
Illustrated by Lea Bing, this never-reprinted story from Dell's Santa Claus Funnies #1 (1942) was the first in a series of annual books featuring not only Kris Kringle, but other Christmas-related characters and stories that ran from '42 to '62.

Friday Fun MONSTERS UNLIMITED "Best of #7"

Welcome to the final issue of Stan Lee's 1960s humor magazine...
...where the creatures are classic and the one-liners are corny!

This issue also featured a letters page...
...which promised more audience participation in the next issue!
Sadly, #8 never appeared!
In 1972, Marvel expanded its' newsstand "footprint" with a line of new b/w magazines featuring monsters, barbarians, kung fu, and movies/tv shows (including Planet of the Apes and Doc Savage)!
They also re-introduced the "monster humor" concept with a new magazine; Monster Madness!
...but you'll have to wait until next Halloween to see them!
Next Friday, a new humor series!

Illustrated by Golden Age journeyman Rafael Astarita, this tale appeared in Avon's Strange Worlds #4 (1951) and was reprinted in IW's Strange Planets #9 (1959).
It was then re-illustrated, with only minor changes to the script (including a re-titling), in Eerie Publications' Strange Galaxy V1N8 (1971) as shown HERE.
