You Think You Know All About the Newest Marvel Cinematic Universe Hero?

With the new Marvel movie...

opening September 3rd, we thought we'd show you the never-reprinted first "revamping" of the character who was created during the Kung-Fu craze of the 1970s.
While it's not as extreme as what the movie's doing, it was considered surprising and controversial at the time!

Begin the adventure unseen for over 40 years on Monday at...

Space Force Saturdays SPACE WORLDS "Midnight Horror"

Our final story from Space Squadron/Space Worlds features yet another scheme by Edgar Revere...
....the strip's resident cowardly Baltar/Dr Smith-type and son of esteemed Space Squadron commander Blast Revere!
Ignore the fact that outer space itself is a vacuum, so the Earth couldn't leave a "vacuum trail", and the story's quite entertaining!
Sadly, Edgar never received his just desserts in the strip.
Illustrated by Allen Bellman, this never-reprinted tale from Atlas' Space Worlds #6 (1952) was the final adventure of the Space Squadron before they jetted off into publishing limbo.
Next week: we've run out of stories from Speed Carter: SpaceMan and Space Squadron, but there's still a gallery of kool covers from both series that you'll see next week, along with info about what will follow in the Saturday posting slot!

CoronaVirus Comics Reading Room UNCANNY TALES "Cure"

Sometimes solving the puzzle of a pandemic is worse than the disease itself...
...as this never-reprinted tale set in the then-future year of 1976 from Atlas' Uncanny Tales #45 (1956) demonstrates!
It should be pointed out that the "common cold" virus, though known to mankind since 1600 BC, has never been known to affect any other, non-human species!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder LOST WORLD "Escape from Earth!"

Last week we learned that the "present day" in this series was 1982...
..and are now told the invasion occurred seven years earlier, in 1975!
Guess they didn't celebrate the Bicentennial on this Earth...
Of course, the only reason Helena agrees to work with the mutants is because, without a functioning ship, she's trapped on Earth!
Curiously, Helena and the scientists know about Hunt Bowman, probably by monitoring Volta broadcasts, but never attempted to contact him!
BTW, as of this tale from Fiction House's Planet Comics #60 (1949), the remainder of Lost World has never been reprinted, so if you don't own the original comics, this is likely the first time you'll be seeing these stories!
