Wednesday Worlds of Wonder WALKING DEAD "Presidential Address" Part 1

...a crippled alien starship crashes on Earth and it's cargo, a gas (created to revive dead aliens to continue fighting their centuries-old war) leaks into the atmosphere.
Due to differences between alien and human biology, it also revives dead humans...who are sentient, but maniacal!

To Be Continued...
Created by writer/artist Jim Somerville and published by Malibu/Aircel in 1989, it was vastly-different from the 2003-present graphic novel series created by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore.
For collectors, there's good news and bad news...
Good news: There's only a four-issue mini series and a one-shot Special to collect!
Bad news: Because it didn't sell well (and has never been reprinted), it's HTF (hard to find) and expensive!

Give the Christmas Gift That Keeps On Giving ALL YEAR LONG!

One of our favorite types of pop culture collectible here at the Atomic Kommie Comics™ offices are calendars, in particular the multi-page 12-month kind, with a different illustration for each month.

I have over a decade's worth of James Bond 007 movie poster calendars.
Each year the new one adorns the wall over my computer.
When the year is over, I cut it up and use the art the next year as mini-posters to decorate whatever vacation place I rent during the summer.
Besides 007, over the years, I've picked up, or been given, various Star Trek, Star Wars, DC, Marvel, and other licensed property calendars.
I've always enjoyed using them, and often thought of the person who gave them to me!

But, there are pop culture categories and subjects that we've wanted in calendar form as presents for others (or for ourselves), but were never produced!
So, we decided to create them, using the wildest, rarest, kitchiest comic book and pulp magazine covers & movie posters we could find, each image digitally-restored and remastered from hi-rez scans of the original items, NO reprints or low-rez files!
Only $19.99 each!

Reading Room CHAMBER OF CHILLS MAGAZINE "Walking Dead"

The phrase "Walking Dead" wasn't always synonymous with zombies...
...as this never-reprinted story from Harvey's Chamber of Chills Magazine #3 (1951) demonstrates!
Penciled by Bob Powell, inked by Powell, Howard Nostrand and Martin Epp, this tale was one of the earliest to use the phrase "Walking Dead"...but in connection with ghosts, not zombies!
But don't worry, zombies get equal time this weekend...

Reading Room THE WALKING DEAD "Genesis of the Walking Dead" Conclusion

...the semi-sentient undead are running amok unchecked.
But not for long...
Interestting how both versions of The Walking Dead feature former law-enforcement officers as their protaganists, eh?
Not to mention the idea of humans creating defensible sanctuaries against the undead...
This concludes our re-presentation of the first issue of the series.
Whether we continue or not depends on reader response.
If people let us know they want more, we'll happily provide it!
So hit the keyboards and let us know, folks!
