...yeah, it's a bit of a cliche, but this tale from Key's Weird Mysteries #1 (1952), has a surprise gimmick to defeat the baddies!

Illustrated by Walter Palais (brother of better-known Golden Age artist Rudy Palais) and Mike Esposito, this "possession by aliens" tale manages to present a variation of the old story with the fact that literally ANY pain causes the parasite to flee.

Monday Madness WEIRD MYSTERIES "Trick or Treat"

It's Almost Halloween...

...so let's have fun telling a tale of a Halloween costume party gone horribly wrong!

Illustrated by Eugene Hughes and scripted by an unknown writer, this All Hallows Eve story from Key Publications' Weird Mysteries #10 (1954) was reprinted only once until the 2010s...but in black and white and with the only alteration being a title change...

...when it appeared in Stanley Morse's Stark Terror #2 (1970).
(Morse, BTW, was the publisher of Key Publications before the company went out of business during the Dr Wertham-created "Seduction of the Innocent" scandal that almost destroyed the comic book business in the mid-1950s.

Tales Twice Told WEIRD MYSTERIES "Planet Eaters"

Perhaps those who don't believe in saving the ecosphere read this story as kids...

...or maybe they're just idiots!

Either way, it's a kool story!

While the writer for this never-reprinted tale from Key Publications' Weird Mysteries #1 (1952) is unknown, the artist has been identified as Frank Frollo.

This story, like numerous others from smaller, defunct, comics publishers, was redrawn in an Eerie Publications b/w magazine, using the same script with a couple of minor revisions and retitled "Green Horror".
