The cover story for DC's Hot Wheels #6 (1971) was written by Len Wein, with art by Neal Adams and Dick Giordano, following Alex Toth's character designs from the 1969-1971 animated series based on the toy line.
Toth also illustrated most of the stories in the comic series, as shown below!

Macabre Monday Madness BLACK MAGIC "Madame Cyanide and Mister Tricks!" & HORROR TALES "Broomstick Witch"

Here's a maddening tale (for several reasons) on the Monday before Halloween...

...a never-reprinted tale, which was redone with new art decades later!

Steve (Dr Strange) Ditko illustrated this story from Prize's Black Magic V4N5 (1954).

The writer is unknown, but could be Joe Simon and/or Jack Kirby, since the book was packaged by their studio.

Was it meant to be the first in an ongoing series about Mister Tricks and his attempts at debunking?

The tale's script (with minor changes) served as the basis of this story from Eerie Publications' Horror Tales V6N4 (1974) twenty years later...

"Romero", the artist who signed the piece is not Enrique Romero, who illustrated Modesty Blaise and Axa, but one of several other Romeros who've worked in American comics over the decades.

Friday Fascist Fun MAD "Mad's All-Inclusive Do-It-Yourself Impeachment Newspaper Story"

When the previous criminally-inclined Republican Prez was about to be impeached in 1974...

...it was (unlike now) for a non-violent crime and MAD Magazine was at a creative peak, as demonstrated by this classic (and pretty comprehensive) piece by writer Frank Jacobs published in EC's MAD #170 (1974)!

The process took several months, allowing for such satirical pieces to be carefully-crafted.

Today, sadly, MAD as a print magazine is gone (except for reprints), and the increased speed political matters now proceed at prevents such material from being created!

Monday Madness MAD-DOG "Rabid"

He is The Hero We Need NOW...

...at least, that's what they thought in 1992, according to Ace Comics' editor Harlan Stone.

Writer Evan Dorkin, penciler Gordon Pucell, and inker Ray McCarthy play along with the premise of the short-lived TV 1990s series BOB (starring Bob Newhart) about a Silver Age comic character being revived in the Dark Age of the 1990s.

Editor Harlan Stone, mentioned above, is the character on the show who supports reimagining the Adam West-Batman-like Mad-Dog as a psychopathic killer vigilante, which Mad-Dog's creator, Bob McKay, hates, as shown in this "behind the scenes" page...

So, Stone proposes this comic (published by Marvel) which will present both versions!

There Was...

The son of Neptune (who may or may not be the Roman god), The Shark once lived in an undersea kingdom, but set out to fight all crime committed at sea by anyone; human, sea-dweller, or extraterrestrial alien!

He's called "Shark" because sharks often accompany him...and eat his enemies!
The character is also a skilled scientist, who creates and uses technology far beyond then-current human science! 

• His super-powers include...
• The ability to breathe underwater
• Superhuman strength and near-invulnerability (which he loses on land unless he's in physical contact with a magic knife given him by his father)
• Mental control of sea life!
• Ability to create creatures made of water, which he can direct mentally!
  

With a strip appearing in both Amazing-Man Comics and Stars and Stripes Comics, The Shark lasted until Centaur Publishing (which also published pulp magazines) gave up comics.

Monday Madness AMAZING ADVENTURES "Cosmic Comics"

Ziff-Davis' 1950s sci-fi anthology Amazing Adventures...

...ran interesting "filler" pages including these humor strips by Harry Sahle from the first two issues.

Note the one above, from the inside back cover of #2, is b/w.

But the one above, from issue #1, while also an inside cover, is two-color!

Perhaps there were budget cuts between the printing of the two issues!
Sadly, these were the only two Cosmic Comic strips to run in any Ziff-Davis comics!

Monday Madness CAPTAIN ELECTRON "Mr Computer"

Now this guy is exactly who we need in the era of deep fakes and potentially-insane AI!

Unfortunately, the "Today" the title refers to is 1986, though the art style looks like something from the Golden Age!

Despite looking like it was drawn in the 1940s, this tale was produced in 1986 to recruit students for a computer technology school!

The one-shot promo comic was written and illustrated by Golden Age artist Jay Disbrow, who served as Public Relations Director for Brick Computer Science Institute from the mid-1980s until it closed its' doors in 1994.
Jay continued to appear at comics conventions and, in 2000, started a webcomic, Aroc of Zenith, producing new material until 2005.
He passed from this mortal coil in 2017.
