Reading Room ADVENTURE INTO MYSTERY "Beware...the Brimm!"

If there's one thing any fan of sci-fi/fantasy can tell you, it's that things that appear to be warm, cuddly, and cute are, in reality, rarely harmless...
Illustrated by Angelo Torres and likely plotted by editor Stan Lee, this never-reprinted story from Atlas' Adventure into Mystery #7 (1957) leaves the door open to a sequel, but one never appeared!

Reading Room ADVENTURE INTO MYSTERY "Inside the Iceberg"

If there's anywhere we'd like to be during this heat wave, it's inside an iceberg!
But then, we're not about to experience what Jeff Marlin is about to encounter...
Illustrated by Manny Stallman, the actual scripter of this never-reprinted story from Atlas' Adventure into Mystery #1 (1956) is unknown, though the plot is likely the brainchild of the book's editor, Stan Lee!
But any way you look at it, this is a kool tale for a hot summer day!

Monday Madness ADVENTURE INTO MYSTERY "World Gone Mad!"

Here's a little ditty about how homogenized America (especially the suburbs)...
...became during the post-World War II era...ironically created during that era!
Illustrated by Jim (Supergirl) Mooney and scripted by an unknown writer, this tale of suburban prefab housing tract development and how it could confuse the unaware from Atlas' Adventure into Mystery #3 (1956) rang true for many during that era who actually fell for that sort of trick, especially around Halloween!

Reading Room ADVENTURE INTO MYSTERY "Watcher"

Here's a never-reprinted cautionary tale...
...from Atlas' Adventure in Mystery #7 (1957) whose "moral" is a little lost on me...
All Andrew Morris really needs is someone to doublecheck his time/space coordinates!
If he does decide to collaborate with others when he rebuilds, I'd hope he register a patent for for the system first!
Better safe, than sorry!
Marvin Stein does a fine job visualizing this tale by an unknown writer.

Reading Room ADVENTURES INTO MYSTERY "Dark Side of the Moon!"

Elon Musk's launch of Falcon Heavy and "Starman" restored a long-lost excitement and "sense of wonder"...
...exemplified by this never-reprinted tale from Atlas' Adventures into Mystery #1 (1956)!
Remember, this was even before Sputnik was launched, so we truly had no idea of what was out there beyond what Earth-based telescopes had revealed!
Bob Powell turns in his usual superbly-rendered artwork with distinctive individualistic characters and detailed settings and textures.
The writer is unknown.
