Stephen Colbert IS Tek Jansen: Space Hero!

Did you know mild-mannered Late Show host Stephen Colbert is really...
...and that he had both a five-issue comic mini-series...
...and a number of animated cartoon episodes (with Colbert as the voice of Jansen)!
Sadly, the cartoons themselves are now lost to the cyber-winds, but the theme song survives HERE!
But hang tight, True Believers, 'cause we'll be posting some of the OOP (that's "out of print") adventures of everybody's (especially Stephen's) favorite space hero for the next couple of weeks on this blog at Wednesday Worlds of Wonder and Space Hero Saturdays plus, same day on Wednesdays and Saturdays, at Secret Sanctum of Captain Video!
That's three chapters each week for the next two weeks!

Dare You Miss It???

Monday Mecha Madness MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!

Though in the Star Wars Multiverse, They're known as "Droids"...
...they're actually robots, not androids!
So why aren't they called "bots"?
BTW, who knew R2D2 was such a wise-ass?
Next: If droids can't go into the Cantina, where do they go?

Note: Technically, the female could be an android!
The following tale features two droids...one good and one decidedly evil!
The final entry features R2D2, also hanging out with Ewoks...
These stories were from a trio of limited-edition anthology fanzines dubbed "Star Wars Fanbooks" sometimes called Star Wars Harvest Fanbooks, since the first one was titled...
Two others followed...
...all conceived, edited, and produced by Shelli Paroline in the late 2000s!
I wanted to present something both mecha and Star Wars-themed, and since almost every related comic/graphic novel had been reprinted multiple times (except for the Star Wars 3-D comics, which didn't play up the droids), finding something unique was proving near-impossible, until I remembered these, which featured very talented fans and neo-pros demonstrating their love for the "Galaxy Far, Far, Away"!
And, I was hoping to provide a link to the publisher's website listed in the Grand Comics Database HERE so others could purchase copies, but the site is now defunct.
And a search for copies anywhere else came up with zero/zilch/nada/nuthin' honey!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder HP LOVECRAFT'S THE CALL OF CTHULHU "Call of Cthulhu" Part 2

We Have Already Seen...

Title Page from the first appearance of this tale, in Weird Tales V11N2 (1928)!
Inheriting the papers and personal effects of his late grand-uncle, linguistic professor George Gammell Angell, our narrator discovers a small bas-relief sculpture which yields "simultaneous pictures of an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature", along with documents mentioning frequent references to Cthulhu and R'lyeh!
Tracing the documented incidents leads to a larger statue of indeterminate, but undeniable antiquity...perhaps predating known history...
To Be Concluded Next Wednesday!
Here's a couple of pages from this section of the original Spanish language publication, showing the unique color palette used for the story!
Pity these have never been reprinted in any of the several English-language editions!
