Reading Room 3-D COLOR CLASSICS: TIME MACHINE (Conclusion)

Victorian-era inventor John travels to the future and discovers that, after reaching a pinnacle of scientific development, mankind has deteriorated to two groups of primitives!
Above-ground dwellers are peaceful, but those who lurk below are savage!
The underground humans steal John's time-travel vehicle...and then, one of his new-found friends, a woman named Weena.
Seeking both, the chronic argonaut goes below the surface, where he discovers the hostile cave dwellers, known as "Morlocks", are hyper-sensitive to light.
Finding his machine and the woman, John heads for the surface with her, planning to return for his vehicle...
Note: John says to the Morlocks; "Perhaps one of my distant ancestors will meet you!"
If they're in the future, wouldn't it be one of his descendents?

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder 3-D COLOR CLASSICS: TIME MACHINE (Part 2)

...(note the reference to HG Wells' earlier time travel tale!)
Victorian inventor John travels to the future, where he discovers humans reached a remarkable level of scientific achievement, then apparently lost their knowledge over generations and became gentle primitives!
But not all of them!
When his time-travel vehicle is stolen and taken underground, John pursues the thieves, he discovers some humans had become savage primitives!
To Be Concluded...Tomorrow!
Adapted by Peter Stone, with layouts by Neal Adams and finishes by Adams, Rodolfo Damaggio, Andres Klasic, and John Nyberg, this adaptation takes considerable liberties with the original novel.
But, to be fair, almost every adaptation, no matter the media, has made changes, usually due to technical (sfx) or space limitations.

Reading Room 3-D COLOR CLASSICS: TIME MACHINE (Part 1)

Here's a never-reprinted graphic version of the HG Wells tale...
...from over 3 decades ago, illustrated by the late, great, Neal Adams and his Continuity Associates studio!
To Be Continued Tomorrow...in Wednesday Worlds of Wonder!
Adapted by scripter Peter Stone, with layouts by Neal Adams and finishes by Adams, Rodolfo Damaggio, Andres Klasic, and John Nyberg, this adaptation takes considerable liberties with the original novel.
But, to be fair, almost every adaptation, no matter the media, has made changes, usually due to technical (sfx) or space limitations.
The book was part of a series of comics given away as part of Wendy's Kid's Meals in 1995!
The books used a full color 3-D process called "ChromaDepth", that used the color spectrum to create a three-dimensional effect with the enclosed glasses, yet left a perfectly-readable (if oddly-colored) comic if the glasses were lost!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder SONIC DISRUPTERS "Republic of Rock" Conclusion

We Have Already Seen...

...in the year 2030, pirate broadcaster satellite Little Bopper has declared independence from the USA, which is now a theocratic autocracy.
As various nations (including America, which wants them back) plan to impose control on the rogue space station, the leader travels to the Republic of Rock, part of another recently-independent (but earthbound) nation, the United States of Rock...

To Be Continued...in the Near Future...but Before 2030!

Writer Mike Baron, penciler Barry Crain, and inker John Nyberg created this series for DC in 1986, when the company was encouraging creatives to present new, creator-owned, projects either as stand-alone graphic novels or mini-series.
Though this was proposed as a 12-issue series, only seven issues were published, and contrary to rumors, there was no unpublished 8th issue, so the story ends mid-stream and, obviously, has never been reprinted!

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder SONIC DISRUPTERS "Republic of Rock" Part 1

America has gone extremely conservative/Reich-wing!
Pirate radio station/space station Little Bopper has declared independence from the US.
The American government isn't happy about that and other governments are eager to take advantage of the situation...

To Be Continued Next Wednesday!
