Criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot...

"...so my disguise must be able to strike terror into their hearts."
Radio announcer Tony Trent, decided to fight crime after having witnessed a murder committed by gangsters disguised as cops.
But what could he do with no evidence and criminals who have a phony alibi?
Since a bat didn't fly thru his window, he decided to use a fright mask and pretend to be a creature of the night to scare the criminals into confessing.
The tactic proved so successful, Tony managed to use it for over 60 issues of Big Shot Comics as The Face, as well as two issues of his own title before discarding it, and continuing until Big Shot Comics ended as just a hard-hitting investigative reporter, operating without unusual garb or gimmicks.

He's been revived a couple of time since then...
In the 1980s, Ace Comics' What is...The Face?, drawn by comics legends Steve Ditko and Alex Toth ran four issues.
In 2007, as part of Alex Ross' Project SuperPowers series, The Face (now called Mister Face) was one of the heroes trapped in a mystic urn in the 1940s, but released in the present day with enhanced powers, and is unable to remove the mask!
Now, he can force people who look at him to experience their greatest fears!

And, of course, we at Atomic Kommie Comics™ have revived The Face as part of our Lost Heroes of the Golden Age of Comics™ line, including three of his best 1940s covers on t-shirts, messenger bags, mugs and other kool kollectibles!
But that's not all!
His unique cover logo is included in our Comic Cover LogoWear line, where the best of Golden Age cover lettering ends up on your chest or bookbag!
Plus, he'll soon be part of our Icons of the Golden Age of Comics series!
So, if you're looking for a comic hero who's scary, or a hero who's visually-kool, or a hero who kicks butt, go with The Face! He's all that...and MORE!

And don't forget to buy Project SuperPowers Volume 2, featuring The Face, I mean MISTER Face!

Lotsa Logos (comic book logos, that is)

We at Atomic Kommie Comics™ are big fans of logos.
You know, the distinctive title lettering for a book or character.
Visually, it's the main element that distinguishes one book from another, especially when they're "racked" in a traditional magazine rack so only the top 1/3rd is visible.
And nowhere were logos more distinctive than during The Golden Age of Comics.
So, it's with pardonable pride that we present a line of kool kollectibles featuring the best of classic comic book logos in our line of logowear!
We've included some of the niftiest lettering ever to grace t-shirts, messenger bags, mugs and other goodies including Amazing-Man Comics, The Black Terror, Captain Future, Cat-Man Comics, DareDevil, The Face, Fighting Yank, Green Lama, and The SkyMan!
We're also featuring our own retro-themed Lost Heroes of the Golden Age of Comics™ logo in it's own line of logowear!
There'll be more to come, so check us out as often as you can!

Supermen! & Lost Heroes: the PERFECT present!

We at Atomic Kommie Comics™ are ecstatic that some of the "lost" classics of the Golden Age of Comics are being made available to a graphic novel-hungry audience in the magnificent new tome SUPERMEN! The First Wave of Comic Book Heroes! Fantagraphics has done absolutely spectacular work with previous 1930s-40s reprint albums and follows thru here equally well with a handsome volume worthy of any fan's library!)
We believe that Supermen! would make a great graduation or birthday gift for the graphic story aficionado in your life, especially when combined with one of the Golden Age-themed goodies from our Lost Heroes of the Golden Age of Comics™ collection, which features some of the exhibited heroes including...
Blue Bolt, The Claw, The Clock, DareDevil, The Face, The Flame, Marvelo, Silver Streak, SkyMan, and Sub Zero, in some cases, using the same cover art, on t-shirts, mugs, messenger bags, and other assorted items
Note: Marvelo & Sub Zero are in the Solo Heroes section, since we only have one cover for each character (at present)

As they'd say back in the 1940s: "Gosh, they'd make a swell present for a comics-loving guy or gal!"

NEW: "Lost" Heroes of the Golden Age LogoWear!

Along with classic covers from the Golden Age of Comics, Atomic Kommie Comics is now offering (due to a number of requests) the logos that adorned the comics as stand-alone images on our collectibles in our Lost Heroes of the Golden Age of Comics line.
If you go to LogoWear you'll see the current batch of goodies including The Black Terror, The Fighting Yank, The Green Lama, Amazing-Man, and The Face. Anthology titles like Exciting Comics, Startling Comics, Keen Detective Funnies, etal, will also be coming shortly, along with many more heroes like The Flame, The Owl, Frankenstein, etc.

Note: these are not the new, trademarked logos for the Project SuperPowers versions of the public domain characters, but the original logos from the 1940s-50s! Personally, we hope Dynamite will do some tie in products with art by Ross, Sadowski, etc. (I'll be one of the first in line to buy them when they do! Hell, you should see the amount of Alex Ross stuff I have in my collection!) ;-)
BUY Project SuperPowers #0 (out now), and if you're looking for some kool kollectibles featuring the classic heroes, stop by here!

Heroes of the Golden Age Return...

I'm ecstatic to finally see Alex Ross' Project SuperPowers!
It's everything I hoped in a Golden Age revival; respectful to the original material, but willing to tread new ground. Beautiful covers, nice inside art (though I hear the artist will, unfortunately, be leaving soon.), clever writing.
Two words: BUY IT!

And, if after reading Project SuperPowers #0 (Available now! BUY IT!), you have a craving for kool kollectibles based on the ORIGINAL 1940s versions of the characters, pop over to Atomic Kommie Comics: Lost Heroes of the Golden Age of Comics where their classic cover art has been digitally-restored and remastered onto goodies ranging from messenger bags to t-shirts to mousepads to blank sketchbooks to Lord-Knows-What-Else. It's NOT Alex Ross, but it IS some of the best comics art ever from greats like Mac Raboy, Lou Fine, Reed Crandall, and Alex Schomburg, among others! Plus: multiple cover images for a number of characters including Black Terror, Fighting Yank, The Face (Mr. Face), Miss Masque (Masquerade), Samson, The Flame, Green Lama, The Owl,and Frankenstein (F-Troop)

One more time: BUY PROJECT SUPERPOWERS!
