Monday Madness /CoronaVirus Comics THE STAND: CAPTAIN TRIPS "Prologue: the Circle Opens" Part 1

One of Stephen King's best-selling works starts with a pandemic...
...which begins here...
(note the partial lyrics/quotes of songs from several noted composers, singers, and poets.)
To Be Continued...
Next Monday!
Marvel needed six mini-series from 2008 to 2012 to adapt the 1990 revised and expanded edition of the already-massive 1978 novel!
Trivia: Randall Flagg, a character who appears in many of King's stories, unifying them into one "multiverse", makes his debut in The Stand novel.
But, in comics, he premiered in Marvel's Dark Tower adaptation, which was published before The Stand!

Friday Fun / CoronaVirus Comics JUGHEAD "The Patient"

What happens when the best friend of America's Most Famous Comic Book TeenAger is taken ill?
Well, it seems the gang's true feelings about him come out...
Written by Dick Malmgren and illustrated by Saam Schwartz, this tale from Archie's Jughead #250 (1976) seems to show how little respect Forsythe Pendleton Jones III engenders in his associates...except for Archie!
I hope the current version of the characters has revised this concept...

Wednesday Worlds of Wonder / CoronaVirus Comics SPACE ADVENTURES "Tale About Time: There Shall Be an Ending!"

...reporter Paul Mann is plucked from 1967 by the Esroms, peaceful humans from the year 4000 AD who travel in time machine/spacecraft that are mistaken for "flying saucers".
Mann and the Esroms pursue the Honjnosians (evil humans also from 4000 AD) to the time before the Big Bang when Paul falls out of the ship into the ether of the pre-universe...
Remember, Bronsky's diagram was for a bioweapon, specifically an unstoppable plague!
You'll note the use of the "breaking the fourth wall" storytelling technique with Mann addressing the reader directly in several panels, (with one panel of other characters thinking Paul's a bit looney).
Denny O'Neil using his "Sergius O'Shaughnessy" pseudonym scripted this conclusion to the book-length tale from Space Adventures V2#2 (1968).
The art is by the highly-underrated Pat Boyette with what looks like minor redrawing by Jim Aparo in several panels featuring Paul Mann to maintain visual continuity.
Sadly, there were no further adventures of Mann and the men from 4000 AD...

Suspecting foul play, they are about to read the elder Savage's personal papers to ascertain clues, when an assassination attempt is made on Doc.
The group (except for lawyer Ham, sent on another assignment) now goes in pursuit of the gunman...
