Trump Reading Room COMMANDER BATTLE AND THE ATOMIC SUB "Payoff Battle!"

...I'm sure I saw this plot reused on Voyage to the Botom of the Sea in the 1960s!
Written by Richard Hughes and illustrated by Ken Landau, this never-reprinted tale from ACG's Commander Battle and the Atomic Sub #5 (1955) was the second and last issue of the new anti-communist direction the series took.
The series continued for two more issues, which changed direction yet again, as the Atomic Sub battled flying saucers!

Trump Reading Room WORLD WAR 3 ILLUSTRATED "Old Pals"

As the world nervously-watches Don the Con joust with the equally-unstable Kim Jong Un...
...let's look back at the last time our country was run by an unstable Republican!
Things haven't changed all that much in 35 years, eh?
Written and illustrated by noted underground creator Peter Bagge,  this short appeared in the premiere issue of World War 3 Illustrated (1980) and has been reprinted in various anthologies since.

Trump Reading Room LOOIE LAZYBONES "Package for Pappy!"

Let's look in on the adventures of Don (the Con) Trump's "deplorables"...
...and see what America might look like under their control...
Created in 1943, Looie Lazybones floated around the Nedor Comics line as a "filler" strip until settling down in Thrilling Comics as of #56 (1946).
Young up-and-comer Frank Frazetta took over the art in #67 (1948) bringing it amazingly-close in visual style to the strip's "inspiration", Al Capp's Li'l Abner, which had already become a media sensation, with a radio show, feature film and tons of merchandising!
So close, in fact, that Capp hired Frazetta to "ghost" Li'l Abner in 1954!
BTW, the writer of this variation of O Henry's "Gift of the Magi" from #69 (1948) is unknown.

Trump Reading Room LIFE STORIES OF AMERICAN PRESIDENTS "Andrew Jackson"

Here's a never-reprinted bio of the President that Donnie Milhous Trump only dreams of being...
...illustrated by the one-and-only John Buscema!
Let's start with the fact Jackson was a decorated war hero, while Trump was a draft dodger.
Feel free to continue the comparisons (which go even further apart) from there...
Taken from Dell's Life Stories of American Presidents (1957) one-shot which covered every Chief Executive from George Washington to Dwight D Eisenhower, this is a brief and accurate look at "old Hickory", as he was known.
Regrettably, the writer is unknown.

Trump Reading Room aka the OutHouse HILLBILLY COMICS "Gumbo Galahad Meets Handsome Bill and the Tiger"

Just as every rational, intelligent person knows pro wrestling is fake...
...irrational, unintelligent sorts like Don (the Con) Trump's detestables believe it, like Jabba the Trump himself, is legitimate!
Written and illustrated by Charlton mainstay Art Gates, this story from Charlton's Hillbilly Comics #3 (1956) was clearly-based on Al Capp's then-immensely popular Li'l Abner newspaper strip which had been running as a musical on Broadway and was in preparation as a feature film!
In addition, the tale references pro wrestling, which had experienced a major upswing in popularity due to it's becoming a television mainstay!
Astoundingly, to this day, there are those who believe pro wrestling and the antics sourrounding it (which, BTW, Don the Con participated in) isn't unscripted/plotted/planned/choreographed.
And, apparently, most of them are Jabba the Trump's delporables...
