The REAL Wonder Women of World War II

May is chock-full of holidays.
Among them: Mother's Day, Armed Forces Day, and Memorial Day.
It's a bit late to order for Mothers Day (it's tomorrow), but, how about a gift that would cover the other two of them?
Surf on down to Women of WWII where Atomic Kommie Comics™ offers a unique set of kool kollectibles for the female World War II veteran in your life.
Whether she's your mother or grandmother, sister or aunt, or wife or ex-wife, we've got a bunch of items that show your respect and love in a kitchy, yet kool, kind of way.
Long and short-sleeve T-shirts, mugs, blank journals, even kitchen magnets, all adorned with a classic 1940s comic cover paying tribute to WWII-era WACs, WAVEs, and MCWRs!

So, if you're looking for something different to give as a gift, come to War: Past, Present & Future™ where you can see war through the eyes of those who witnessed it, those who dreamed about it, and those whose job was to make you want to be part of it!

Design of the Week--The Silver Age Captain Marvel

Each week, we post a limited-edition design, to be sold for exactly 7 days, then replaced with another!
This week,a Lichtenstein-style pop-art rendering of the 1960s version of Captain Marvel!
No, not the Golden Age hero who said "SHAZAM!" or the several Marvel comics characters who've used the name, but an alien android who yelled "SPLIT!" and then broke into several pieces which flew around operating independently! (I'm not kidding!)
The vintage art also features the Ben-Day dot pattern for the skin tone that Roy Lichtenstein popularized in his "pop art" paintings of the period.
It's retro-style fun on a host of kool kollectibles, but only for a week, so grab them while you can!
Next Friday, it'll be history, just like the 1960s!

Remember Sky Captain, the FIRST BlueScreen / CGI Flick? (Part 2)

To continue from my rant yesterday...
Now, how could a movie with Angelina Jolie looking incredibly-hot in black leather...
...Bai Ling equally hot in black leather and spandex...
...and really kool retro-styled cgi fighter aircraft fail?
Because they miscast the title character!
Instead of a strong, handsome, physical type like George Clooney or Ewan McGregor...we got pretty-boy Jude Law.
Picture Roger Moore instead of Sean Connery as the first James Bond.
Would the 007 series have lasted from 1962 to today?
Don't think so!
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow had everything going for it, except a decent lead actor!
Maybe it wouldn't have been as big as Avatar, but it could have at least broken even!

Thanks for letting me vent.
Back to the usual tomorrow...
